Branchburg, NJ (PRWEB) August 7, 2006
Falcon Safety Products®, manufacturer of the Dust-Off® brand of consumer electronics cleaning products and The World Cyber Games (WCG), today announced Dust-Off’s sponsorship of the WCG US Championship Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada. The finals will be held from September 15-17 at the Aladdin Hotel (soon to be Planet Hollywood by Sheraton) and will feature more than 175 of the best PC and videogame players of the United States. Participants will be competing for a grand prize of over $75,000 and the chance to represent their country as members of Team USA at the World Cyber Games Grand Final in Monza, Italy.
“The World Cyber Games represents the true spirit of gaming and we couldn’t be more proud to sponsor the US Championship Finals,” said Ken Newman, Director of Marketing for Falcon Safety Products. “The US Finals is the culmination of over four months of fierce competition between some of the most talented gamers that this country has to offer and is sure to be one of the most exciting e-Sports events seen in the US.”
“We are excited to have Falcon as a sponsor for the 2006 USA Final,” said Michael Arzt, general manager and senior vice-president for ICM USA. “The WCG is known for maintaining high standards of competition around the world. Players need the best performance out of their equipment when competing for a spot on Team USA. As the manufacturer of Dust-Off, which has become the gold standard for maintaining and cleaning equipment, Falcon is an ideal partner.”
Dust-Off, one of the world’s most recognized brands when it comes to consumer electronics maintenance, comprises an array of products, including compressed gas dusters, assorted cleaning wipes and a line of micro-fiber cloths that include the Screen Shammy™ and the LapPad™. Together, these products give gamers exactly what they need to properly and effectively keep their equipment clean.
When it comes to a computer system, poor maintenance can be devastating. The smallest amount of dust can wreak havoc on the internal components of a computer, as it can form an insulating blanket settling on and corroding the computer’s delicate circuitry. Such an occurrence can eventually lead to an overall breakdown or loss of performance, brought on by overheating and premature decay. Dust also has the ability to conduct electricity, posing the threat of a short-circuit at any given time.
“There’s a unique passion and significant dedication that today’s PC gamers have; a passion that not only extends to the games themselves but to their equipment, such as high-tech PCs and displays,” added Newman. “Falcon shares the same passion when it comes to the preventative maintenance of such equipment, offering solutions under its Dust-Off brand to keep them clean and in pristine condition, which in the long run will give gamers a significant advantage over his or her competition,” concluded Newman.
The WCG USA competition is already underway, with two more regional qualifiers scheduled over the next several weeks. The public is invited to attend and witness the intensity of America’s most prestigious gaming tournament at any of the upcoming WCG USA regional events, including:
Pacific Regional: August 5-6, 2006
Northeast Regional: August 12-13, 2006
Samsung Experience at Time Warner Center
