Gymkit UK suggest avoiding the icy weather and working up a sweat at home.

Working out in the snow

Widespread snow over the past 4 days has led to school closures and disruption to travel including delayed trains and cancelled flights. Tumbling temperatures are set to continue for the rest of the week with more snow expected. Wintery weather can make travelling to places such as the gym really difficult so instead of taking a risk, why not install some fitness equipment at home? That way, treacherous driving conditions can be avoided and there’s no making excuses for missing a workout.

Gymkit UK have been supplying home gym equipment for 12 years now and have seen an upward trend in people buying fitness equipment for use in the home. Tom Doughty, IT Director and keen sports player said, “The recent weather has been horrendous. I’ve recently bought a brand new Mercedes A-Class so I certainly don’t want to risk driving in icy conditions. I set up a home gym about 6 months ago. I’ve got a cross trainer and some weights and it’s brilliant because it means I can’t avoid my exercise routine. Some of my friends even pop round to use it!” Gymkit UK was set up by Managing Director Howard Braband who wanted his own home gym and wanted to get his hands on some gym equipment that would last but that would not break the bank. He subsequently set out to provide refurbished commercial gym equipment at affordable prices.

Gymkit UK now export all over the world and have added other branches to the business. Commercial gym equipment is sourced from gyms and health clubs that may have had the apparatus for a couple of years and are looking to refurbish in order to attract new members. Gymkit UK has fully trained service engineers that then ensure that the fitness equipment is fully tested, working and clean so that goods can be provided to the customer with a 3 month warranty. The most common items include treadmills, rowers, exercise bikes and cross trainers for sale. An area that has recently been added to the business is Teeter inversion equipment and Gymkit UK are now the sole UK distributor of this, importing from the US. Gymkit UK is based in Whittlesey near Peterborough and have a showroom on site should customers wish to view or try out the fitness equipment. The gym equipment can then be bought on the company website or via eBay and Amazon.
