At the annual Travolution Awards ceremony, held in London last Thursday night, Insuremore's cheap travel insurance website was amongst the winners for its bold new graphical makeover. The travel website design, implemented with their online marketing agency LeadGenerators, was praised for its "excellent design", "clean look" and "upfront disclosure of prices".
The changes to the site were designed by online travel marketing company LeadGenerators and then implemented in-house. After enjoying six months of successful conversions, the site is being given critical approval to match its commercial success, with the notes from a judge on Travolution's site reading: "Excellent design and clean user experience, combined with upfront disclosure of prices, saw InsureMore emerge as the clear winner in this category."
Upon beating the other travel insurance companies short listed to the accolade - AA Travel Insurance, EasyJet4Insurance and GoTravelInsurance - managing director Patrick Chong was in a buoyant mood: "We've won awards in the past for the quality of our service, but this is the first time we've won one for aesthetic appeal and site design. I'm delighted that we now have an award winning website to match our award winning product!"
LeadGenerators managing director, Frank Orman, was also pleased at the recognition. "Designing the graphics for a travel insurance site like Insuremore was always going to be difficult. Because travel insurance isn't a physical product, the majority of people never find out the quality of cover they've purchased, and there's little reason to try out a smaller company, rather than the DirectLines and Endsleighs of this world," he explained. "Graphically we had to highlight the company's unique selling point - their low price point - while still illustrating a reliable trustworthiness. I always felt we had achieved this, but to hear the travel website's design being praised by a third party is wonderful," he added.
This latest travel website award expands Insuremore's parent company's trophy cabinet further, after several years of impressive growth. In 2006, Journeys Travel's online claims won the "best innovation award" at the British Travel Awards, and in 2007 they were awarded the "Best Travel Insurance Provider" at the Globes as well as Travel Bulletin's Star Awards.
Other big winners at the travel website awards show were TravelRepublic, who won two awards - "Online Travel brand of the Year" and "Best Online Travel Agency Website". Elsewhere the tradition of awarding social media in travel was maintained with TripAdvisor and Travel Rants continuing to receive solid recognition.
