Movies That Make You Think. Feel. Discover
Roslyn, NY (Vocus) September 3, 2010
A new website offering free access to online movies has been launched. Festival of Films presents “Movies That Make You Think. Feel. Discover,” from mainstream and classic films to documentaries and indie flicks.
In addition to free online movies, Festival of Films also features a New Filmmaker Showcase, which spotlights innovative works from emerging filmmakers; Director’s Seat, a live talk from a different director each month; and a Reviews & Discussion section, which gives the community a forum in which to read and write reviews, as well as share their thoughts about the free movies they’ve watched.
The site also presents one featured film every month. This month’s film is “Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden,” directed by Morgan Spurlock of “Supersize Me” fame. After finding out his wife is pregnant, Spurlock wants to track down Bin Laden in order to make the world a safer place for his unborn child. But before he can do so, he must first learn about the world’s most wanted man, where he came from, and what makes him tick. His journey takes him throughout the Middle East, where he interviews people about Bin Laden, Islamic fundamentalism, and the war on terror. The information Spurlock uncovers will astonish just about anyone who has managed to get through the years since Sept. 11, 2001. This film is particularly relevant today, considering the ongoing debate surrounding the Ground Zero Mosque.
Founded by two technology industry veterans, Tom Dolan and Andy Schupak, Festival of Films is a grassroots effort, evolving from the ground up, with the goal of building an online community for movie lovers. “We truly want our website to be a reflection of the people who use it,” said Schupak.
All films on Festival of Films website are licensed, and cleared for online viewing. For more information, visit http://www.festival-of-films.com.
