Content Curation Contests Seeks World’s Best Curators

Content Curation Contest is On. There is a new class of information worker – content curators – who, thanks to Raleigh web developers and Internet marketers Atlantic BT, have a contest.

Our Content Curation Contest is a give-back for Atlantic BT, a chance to say thanks to a new class of information worker we believe will become important, very important.

Curators who enter the first Content Curation Contest can win an I Pad 2®, Kindle Fire® and a Top Curator label. “Cool new tools such as Scoop.it, Hunch.com and Twitter along with a special group of content curators who do hard work to help others understand an overwhelming world of more and more information coming faster and faster have helped me survive cancer, find the best job I’ve ever had and connect with creative people around the world,” said Atlantic BT Marketing Director Martin Smith. The company views their first Content Curation Contest, whose application deadline is February 26th, as an annual event.

“Content Curation and Curators are about to be the most important people in business and our lives as we struggle to cope,” said Smith. Every two days we create as much information as we did from the dawn of civilization up until 2003 Eric Schmidt shared at the Techonomy Conference in 2010. Schmidt noted the real issue is the explosion of user generated content (UGC). “People aren’t ready for what’s coming,” Schmidt shared.

Raleigh Web Developers Atlantic BT, founded by Jon Jordan in 1998, has grown rapidly to become the largest web development company in Raleigh, North Carolina according to the Triangle Business Journal (November 2011). “We care about people,” company Founder Jon Jordan explains the value he, Chief Operating Officer Mark Foulkrod and a talented group of over fifty programmers, sales and marketing staff use as their guide to continue Atlantic BT’s growth. Company culture includes an annual Pumpkin Chunkin event, Chili Cook Offs and the use of scooters to glide from one of the Atlantic BT Center to the other.

“When I approached Jon about helping the hardest working nonpaid army in the world – content curators – he agreed seeing support for curators as consistent with his vision for Atlantic BT,” explained Marketing Director Smith.

The Content Curation has an application phase ending on February 26 followed by a several week voting stage. Two Top Curators receive prizes and ten curators receive “Top Curator of 2011” titles on special pages on Atlantic BT. “Our Content Curation Contest is a give-back for Atlantic BT, a chance to say thanks to a new class of information worker we believe will become important, very important,” concluded Smith.
