Dr. DelRae, founder of the popular detox and weight loss system whose products are going viral around the Internet takes a stand to support the Fuel Up to Play 60 Program. Dr. DelRae recently attended an event in Washington DC. Supported by the GENYOUth Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting childhood obesity. GENYOUth's flagship program Fuel Up to Play 60, is a partnership between the NFL and the National Dairy Council. The in-school program empowers youth in more than 70,000 schools to improve nutrition and physical activity at their own school and for their own health. It encourages youth to consume nutrient-rich foods and achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
Dr.DelRae was able to meet and greet many in the nutritional and sports industry including Kurt Warner, a former American football player, as well as London Fletcher, an American football linebacker for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL), NFL Alumni LaVar Arrington who is a 3x Pro Bowl selection and 3x All-Pro selection. He is a contributor to Washingtonpost.com. His blog, Hard Hits, focuses on sports topics, both locally and nationally. Arrington has a weekday afternoon radio talk show in Washington DC, "The LaVar Arrington Show with Chad Dukes." He speaks at events on behalf of the Fuel Up to Play 60 Program and the importance of eating the right foods and exercising daily.
Weight loss and childhood obesity is a concern for many Americans. Dr. DelRae is proud to assist families across the country by attending events that encourage support to children and adults to become more active! Meeting professionals in the sports arena who understand the value of keeping fit is inspiring!
Dr. DelRae “I have great passion and insight on my support of the Fuel Up to Play 60 Program and why it is so important for our youth - it is a youth-driven program that gives them the power to be creative incorporating healthy foods and fitness into their schools. It was created by collaborative efforts between the National Dairy Council (who promotes the school breakfast program and salad bars for lunch) and the NFL (volunteer time from the players to inspire youth to exercise for at least 60 minutes a day). My mission is to tie the research on nutrition and physical activity with cognition and academic performance together to show schools and parents that what children are eating and how they are moving impact their health and well-being!!”
Supporting children and adults with weight loss is a fantastic cause. We celebrate all of the fantastic athletes who took their time to attend this conference and chose to make a difference in the lives of young people around the USA.
