As a health and wellness organization, Robard Corporation is a committed partner in the fight against the global obesity epidemic.
Mount Laurel, NJ (Vocus/PRWEB) February 02, 2011
As a health and wellness organization, Robard Corporation is a committed partner in the fight against the global obesity epidemic. To that end, the company has formally announced three new wellness initiatives directed at dieters, its own employees, and weight loss centers.
The first, a Dieter Referral Program, aims to make the company’s programs and products accessible to all potential dieters. To achieve this, Robard Corporation is offering to pay dieters to lose weight. Potential dieters are encouraged to go online and visit http://www.Robard.com/ReferralProgram to request a packet of materials and program details. Then, for every weight loss center the dieter passes this information along to that becomes a Robard customer, the company will reimburse the dieter for three months worth of Robard products (max. $250). Robard Corporation is committed to never selling products directly to dieters, as the need for dieter support and education is a crucial element of success in all of the company’s weight management programs. Therefore, this exciting new Dieter Referral Program aims to help dieters bring Robard Corporation’s proven programs and products to their own neighborhood.
In addition to the Dieter Referral Program, Robard is helping its own employees with a new corporate “biggest loser” program and partnership with the Pound for Pound Challenge. For every pound Robard employees pledge to lose, the Pound for Pound Challenge will donate 11¢ to Feeding America -- enough to secure one pound of groceries for the South Jersey Food Bank. It is Robard’s goal to help its employees lead healthier lives, while also lending support to those in need.
Finally, Robard has formally announced the development of a new Diabetes Medical Protocol. According to an October 2010 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report, one in 10 U.S. adults now have diabetes. The prevalence is expected to rise sharply over the next 40 years, with as many as one in three having the disease, primarily type 2 diabetes, according to the report, published in the journal Population Health Metrics. For men and women, obesity may be the single most influential risk factor for developing glucose intolerance -- the hallmark of diabetes. It is easy then, to understand why proper nutrition and weight loss are considered cornerstones of therapy in managing type 2 diabetes.
Robard Corporation, in conjunction with a highly regarded endocrinologist, Dr. Christopher Case, M.D., of the Jefferson City Medical Group, has developed a Diabetes Medical Protocol to address this escalating epidemic. The Diabetes Medical Protocol was the first nationally available comprehensive Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) to offer educational materials and medical guidelines specifically for patients with type 2 diabetes. The Diabetes Medical Protocol helps overweight and obese patients with type 2 diabetes lose and control their weight, normalize blood glucose levels, reduce plasma lipid levels and blood pressure, thus improving their quality of life and decreasing co-morbidities. In fact, a VLCD approach to diet and weight loss may eliminate the need to start or continue oral medications or insulin.
