Accountable care is a movement and a paradigm shift within healthcare delivery and payment that is taking many forms.

Wellcentive today announced the company has been selected for membership by the Accountable Care Community of Practice (ACCoP) to aid the organization’s mission of consolidating best practices around healthcare IT implementation, programmatic solutions, education and the expansion of quality care.

Since its founding in 2011 following the advent of CMS Shared Savings provided for in the Affordable Care Act, ACCoP membership has grown to include consortium members such as Microsoft, GE Healthcare, Intel, Siemens and the hospital/provider alliance Premier among others.

“Accountable care is a movement and a paradigm shift within healthcare delivery and payment that is taking many forms,” said Richard Walsh, Vice President of Corporate Development at Wellcentive. “As public and private ACO and care coordination programs continue to develop, the healthcare system benefits from an accepted set of standards and a knowledge base around data aggregation, benchmarking, evidence-based preventive medicine and health IT competencies. We are proud to join the Accountable Care Community of Practice and bring our field-level expertise to the table.”

Wellcentive’s cloud-based Advance™ solutions aggregate clinical data repositories compiled from EHR, HIE, HIS, LIS and payer systems to create a single platform of usable information allowing providers to track performance, meet incentive payment structures through clinical integration and care management.

“Wellcentive has established a proven model for its ACO, Physician Hospital Organization and health system partners achieving Organized System of Care designation by national payers,” said Justin Barnes, ACCoP co-chair and a vice president at Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc., a founding member of the Community of Practice. “Our shared goals of working with payers, regulatory agencies, health IT firms and consultancies will benefit greatly from the practical and innovative approach Wellcentive has brought to accountable care.”
