This was the least we could do to honour Roy's remarkable and long-standing service to the Nova Scotian hotel guests, staff and community.

The Westin Nova Scotian Halifax Hotel names their hotel lounge Roy’s Lounge to honour dedicated and long-service staff member, Roy Clorey. Roy started working at the downtown Halifax hotel lounge in 1963, over 49 years ago.

“This is the best thing that can happen for a bartender,” Says Roy Clorey in Roy’s Lounge. “It’s surreal that the lounge is now named Roy’s Lounge. I feel honoured.”

The Halifax hotel officially named the hotel lounge to Roy’s Lounge to honour Roy’s contributions to the guests, staff and community of the Nova Scotian. Roy Clorey started working at the downtown Halifax hotel in 1963 in the then Griffin’s Lounge. For over 49 years, Roy has poured drinks in the lounge of the Nova Scotian and served up his specialty martinis.

“Roy has been a dedicated member of the Westin Nova Scotian family for many years,” says Chef Raj Gupta Director of Food and Beverage. “This was the least we could do to honour his remarkable and long-standing service to the Nova Scotian hotel guests, staff and community.”

Roy’s Lounge is located in the Westin Nova Scotian and serves as a hotel lounge for guests and Haligonians. The lounge serves light-fare throughout the day featuring many favourite Nova Scotia cuisine dishes.
