Interactive Whambulance Rolls into League City, TX on July 21.

The First Choice ER Whambulance

First Choice Emergency Room, the leading freestanding emergency room system in the United States, today announced a new program to familiarize consumers with their local ER facilities. As an innovator in health care, First Choice Emergency Room is bringing a branded Monster Truck, The First Choice ER Whambulance, to many of its facilities as an interactive means to introduce communities to the First Choice Emergency Room facilities as an alternative option should an emergency need arise.

The First Choice ER Whambulance will park outside the League City facility on July 21, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and welcome visitors to take a photo by the vehicle, sign up to win a remote control mini-Whambulance and even take a turn at racing the remote control truck. The Whambulance will also make an appearance at Kemah’s ‘Rock the Dock’ on Thursday, July 19 beginning at 6 p.m. Complete with 66 inch tires, the converted 2005 Chevrolet Kodiak Heavy Duty Ambulance is now 14 feet tall, 13 feet wide and 25 feet long.

"We are excited to welcome folks to come see the First Choice ER Whambulance as an innovative means to show off our facilities,” said Dr. David Olson, First Choice Emergency Room's Facility Medical Director at South Shore in League City. “Our patients appreciate the quick access, almost immediate, to board-certified emergency physicians and the quality time the doctors spend with them.”

The First Choice Emergency Room's most frequent patients are males 21 and under, so the Monster Truck is an interactive and highly relevant opportunity to engage with this key group, along with the larger community, and introduce them to the First Choice Emergency Room facilities.

First Choice ER physicians are board- certified and all nurses are emergency trained. The facility is equipped with state of the art diagnostic technology, including CT scanners, ultrasound machines and digital x-rays, and on-site COLA & CLIA accredited laboratories to handle emergency needs on the spot.

First Choice Emergency Room’s League City facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days per week. The facility is located 3033 Marina Bay Drive, Suite 100, in League City, TX 77573and can be reached at (281) 549-9400. David Olson, M.D. is the facility medical director and received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska, and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1983. While in Milwaukee, he worked in a private practice, and then served as the Director for the Emergency Medicine residency. Prior to joining First Choice ER in 2007, he was the Chairman of Emergency Medicine at UT Houston Medical School, and then became president of the emergency medicine physician group at Northeast Medical Center in Humble.
