Whistler has received new honors from overseas. According to an Australian Luxury Travel Magazine news release, tens of thousands subscribers and readers were asked to nominate the world's best hotels, resorts, spas, cruise lines, golf courses, airlines and destinations. Once the totals were tallied, for the third year in the row Whistler has been named the "Best Overseas Ski Resort". Visitors have several Whistler accommodations to choose from including the popular Whistler Cascade Lodge.

Looking ahead, Whistler is set to host the Adventure Travel World Summit from October 4-6, 2007 at the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre. Whistler was chosen in part because it is "recognized as a world-class environment focused on outdoor adventure, recreation and responsible tourism," according to the January 3, 2007 ATTA news release. More information on this event will follow in upcoming months.
