World’s First Wholesale ISP Celebrates 10 Years of Solving Internet Provider Challenges

Wholesale ISP, visp.net, uses proprietary email technology and ISP software to solve common email support issue for ISPs.

Grants Pass, OR (PRWEB) August 2, 2006 -- Wholesale ISP visp.net (www.visp.net) celebrates its 10th year by solving the most common email support issue faced by Linux/UNIX-based Internet Service Providers and their subscribers with new technology, Adaptive Email Authentication™.

With this email technology, subscribers can check their email with either “username” or “username@realm” because visp.net’s email servers will intelligently adapt to accommodate either setting in the subscriber’s mail client. “Our research shows that next to connectivity issues, email generates the most subscriber support. Now we’ve resolved one of the most common email support issues.” said Nathan Miller, president of visp.net.

During the past decade, visp.net has developed ISP management software and an entire suite services to make Internet Providers more efficient through reduced management and increased margins.

In 2003, visp.net developed Unique NameSpace™ technology, which allows ISPs to avoid username “collisions” when they outsource email to a wholesaler. These collisions occur when a subscriber with a common email account name such as “bob” already exists on the wholesale ISP’s mail server. Those usernames must be changed, requiring a phone call to the subscriber. Most wholesalers solve this problem by setting up an entirely new mail server, but that adds significant expense and maintenance. Unique NameSpace™ technology completely eliminates this problem by supplying each ISP with their own unique username space without the need for dedicated server for each ISP.

“Together these technologies significantly reduce support load for ISPs that migrate their subscribers to our servers,” Miller said. “It’s a win for everyone: we’re able to create a better experience for subscribers, increase retention, and reduce support costs. And that means more revenue for the ISP.”
