Each year we provide quality accommodation for a number of the bands, sponsors as well as our regular visitors to the festival

With thousands about to invade the Isle of Wight this June for its annual music festival, Wight Locations has published a list of self catering properties available for this period.
One property of note, which comes with a fascinating history, is The Old Boat House, a delightful, four-star rated holiday cottage on the edge of a sandy beach at Seagrove Bay, in the Victorian sailing village of Seaview on the East of the Isle of Wight.
The Old Boat House was initially built in the early 19th century as the coastal folly to the Seagrove Manor Estate, and was thought to have been designed by the famous English landscape architects Capability Brown and Humphry Repton. At the time, The Old Boat House was likely to have been used for picnics and bathing, after which it took on a role as a coastguard lookout, and is now an immaculate period holiday cottage which gazes across the Solent.
But, possibly the coolest tale it has to tell, is that rock legend Jimi Hendrix is reputed to have stayed at The Old Boat House while on the Island before and after, performing at the iconic 1970 Isle of Wight Festival – unfortunately the last performance he gave before his death just three months later.
Mark Curtis, Director of Wight Locations, "The Old Boat House is a great property with a special tale. Our Festival properties are ideal for those who prefer some home comforts at the end of a hard day in the mosh pit. Each year we provide quality accommodation for a number of the bands, sponsors as well as our regular visitors to the festival."
