Mount Angel, Oregon (PRWEB) May 26, 2013
Wilco, the Northwest’s #1 Agricultural Supply Cooperative plans to begin construction of a new two-story 20,000 sq. ft. store in Cornelius, OR, replacing its existing 3,500 sq. ft. store at the same location a few miles west of Hillsboro. The new store is expected to open this fall.
Wilco purchased the existing store business, “Dutch Country Mercantile” from Jeff and Laura Duyck in 2007 along with a separate agronomy supply business in Cornelius, then called “Pacific Harvest”. The existing Wilco Agronomy Center in Cornelius will remain unchanged by the addition of the new farm store and will continue to serve the farm community primarily with crop nutrient and crop protection products.
Wilco has been a member owned farm supply cooperative since 1936 and currently operates 22 locations including retail farm stores, agronomy centers and petroleum delivery with annual sales over 200 million dollars. The company has steadily and profitably grown throughout Oregon and Washington providing products, programs and services for a broad range of customers.
Wilco’s farm stores have continued to enhance the lifestyle and success of the small farm and hobby farm owners, as well as suburban homeowners with its proven menu of convenient locations, quality products, and dedicated, knowledgeable staff.
The additional space and all new two-story layout will include all of Wilco’s signature departments previously unavailable in the Cornelius location. These include lawn & garden, lifestyle clothing, livestock equipment and supplies, pet, and convenience hardware. The new store will also feature an outdoor covered garden center as well as professional dog grooming service.
Employing approximately 25 individuals, the exciting new store is positioned to continue delivering on Wilco’s goals of enhancing our customer’s lifestyles and success while supporting the communities they serve and continuing to show value to their cooperative membership.
