Comedian Bill Cosby once said about life, “You can turn painful situations around through laughter. If you can find humor in anything, even poverty, you can survive it.” In her new book, “Wilma’s Way” (published by AuthorHouse), author Wilma K.T. finds humor in every situation, painting a picture of an ordinary person who loved life in all its phases.

“Wilma’s Way” is a collection of stories and comical essays, many being poems with diverse meaning – some gladness, some sadness – but all deep-seeded.

An excerpt from the entry, “Men Don’t Wave”:

I was standing at the front door looking into the street. The plumber was parked in the drive and I was eagerly awaiting the installation of my new kitchen faucet. As I looked down the street, I saw a large group of people, men and women, all gray haired and mostly my age. There were around 18 of them all walking, two by two, talking and laughing together. As they slowly progressed, even with my front door, the women began waving at me. I, happily waved back at everyone and suddenly I discovered that no men had waved. Why was that? I kept thinking of it all morning while I heard the life history of the plumber, his children and their dog. Finally I decided: men don’t wave.

As K.T. says, “Life can be hard, humor helps.”
