Wilson & Wilson aims to produce wine that is true to the heritage of the late 70’s through the early 90’s in Napa. This “Old Napa” winemaking style is the cornerstone to the launch of Wilson & Wilson.

There has been a shift in Napa Valley winemaking to highlight young, upcoming talent who are influenced by the history of winemaking in the region. Wilson & Wilson, a new family wine company, understands the need to promote these young talents and have recently partnered with Alan Viader of VIADER Vineyard & Winery to take the helm as winemaker in their new venture.

New father and son wine label, Wilson & Wilson is launching their first Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with winemaker Alan Viader, who is exploring his first project outside his family’s wine business. With grapes sourced from coveted Napa Valley vineyards in the Oakville and Diamond Mountain AVAs, Wilson & Wilson aims to produce wine that is true to the heritage of the late 70’s through the early 90’s in Napa. This “Old Napa” winemaking style is the cornerstone to the launch of Wilson & Wilson.

The Wilson Family’s decision to establish Wilson & Wilson Wine was inspired by the early days of Napa Valley, when pioneer winemakers made Cabernet Sauvignon that was true to the varietal characteristics of the grape and intervention in the fields and winemaking process was kept to a minimum. Bordeaux wines were the benchmark examples for the founders of Napa, winemakers practiced quality over quantity, and they employed the art of balance, elegance and refinement—the cornerstones of Wilson & Wilson Cabernet Sauvignon. The company’s approach to wine is simple: great grapes make great wine.

Winemaker Alan Viader, a biodynamic advocate, began managing his family’s vineyards in 2002, and in 2006 became the Director of Operations at VIADER. Alan’s philosophy and approach to viticulture is simply, “the wine is made in the vineyard.”

Wilson & Wilson will be launching their wine in Spring, 2013. “We are really excited about our new venture and are ready to share our wine with close friends and family,” says Ted Wilson II, co-owner of Wilson & Wilson.
