Select quality wine gifts like an expert.

Blanc de Noirs - Brut, an independent wine review site, announced today its choices for the Best Holiday Wines of 2006. Wine buyers are flooded with thousands of choices and little or no time to research those choices. Ken's Holiday Wine List lets people select highly rated wines at different price levels without having to worry about bias from wine sellers. Novices and enthusiasts alike will find excellent wines at value prices with a quick and easy wine shopping list.

"81% of our subscribers usually buy wine priced between $11 and $25 but at the holidays they will spend two or three times that amount when buying wine as a gift. The purpose of our Holiday Wine List is to prevent people from throwing their money away and make sure they buy great wines." according to Ken Hoggins, founder.

Ken's Top 10 wines for the holidays include choices to complement three of the most popular Christmas dinners served in the United States: ham, turkey, and prime rib. Ken suggests the 2005 George Duboeuf "Fleurie - Domaine des Quatre Vents" ($16) with ham; the 2005 Chehalem Pinot Gris ($19) with turkey; and the 2003 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "Thalabert" ($33), with prime rib. For that special gift wine, when you really want to impress a friend, "consider the 2003 Château Pontet-Canet from Bordeaux ($90) as an excellent choice," says Ken.

"Going back and forth between Web sites to try and search out where and what the good wines are can be a long and frustrating process, " states Alex DeWinter, Wine Director at Grill 23 & Bar in Boston. "There is one Web site, however, which manages to simplify the selection process without oversimplifying the information:"

Ken Hoggins began publishing holiday wine recommendations in 1999 and is a trusted resource for consumers and wine connoisseurs.
