The Donatis came to Paicines, in California's Central Coast, in 1998 when they purchased land that would become the Donati Family Estate Vineyard. Like much of southern Napa and Sonoma, Paicines has long warm days followed by cool nights. The vineyard is planted to various select clones of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Syrah, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Blanc and Petite Verdot. In early 2007 the Donati Family Vineyard opened its new Winery and Tasting Room at the former Mastantuono Winery in Templeton, California located in San Luis Obispo County.
