New York, NY (PRWEB) November 15, 2012

BLB released a statement noting support for the new date this week following the moving of the Winter Harvest edition of the festival from Nov. 10 to Dec. 1 after Sandy forced the rescheduling of the popular beer festival.

The NYC Craft Beer Festival was forced to postpone it's Winter Harvest following prolonged power outages and flood damage to many areas of the city caused by Hurricane Sandy two weeks ago. Along with the new date organizers announced the founding of the Sandy Relief Supplies Drive that will collect supplies, food and children's Christmas presents for residents most affected by the flooding and damaging winds.

BLB noted it was pleased to hear the festival decided to reschedule the event instead of canceling and is even more pleased that organizers decided to join in relief efforts for those affected greatly by the devastating storm.

With more than 60 breweries offering nearly 150 different craft beers the festival has become a popular place to taste test home grown brew from New York-based breweries as well as from other breweries around the country, and if response to tweets such as those from New Yorkers like Mark Birnbaum are any indication, many people look forward to a good tasting of uniquely flavored drinks. The Winter Harvest will festure seminars, a connoisseurs lounge, Grand Tasting VIP level and plenty of food, making the festival one of the top choices for heading out with a few friends and enjoying a drink. The seasonal, down home-style food offered at the festival also makes it a top choice on many people's where to eat in New York City list, at least for the day.

The NYC Craft Beer Festival has become a popular choice to enjoy a taste of many flavorful beers with friends and the announcement of it's rescheduled date and founding of a Sandy relief fund has many New Yorkers eagerly anticipating the winter installment of the festival.
