Winter Park-Fraser Valley Chamber announces the first-ever SolShine Music Festival, scheduled for July 16-17. The free event, which features national, regional and local live music, is just one of several fun-filled festivals scheduled this July. From athletic challenges to Independence Day fun to toe-tapping music festivals like SolShine, the Winter Park-Fraser Valley July events line-up runs the gamut.

July 2: Grand Park Run for Independence
The annual five-mile run/walk/roll/bike on the Fraser River Trail starts at 9 a.m. at Winter Park Resort and finishes at Grand Park in Fraser. Shuttles will be available in Fraser and Winter Park Resort before and after the race. New this year, the race welcomes the No Barriers USA disabled athletes and also adds a cruiser bike division for those who want to pedal the Fraser River Trail. The fun race is truly for all ages and abilities. Celebrate at the finish line with a farmers market and a beer garden. The event is a fundraiser for the Scott Hughes Foundation and Children’s Hospital, which provides scholarships to Camp Chief Ouray at Snow Mountain Ranch, YMCA of the Rockies for children with kidney disease and Advocates.
July 4: Lance Gutersohn 4th of July Celebration, Fraser Sports Complex
Life’s a beach at this tropical-themed community Fourth of July celebration. From late afternoon until evening the Fraser Sports Complex bustles with family activities ranging from sporting games to kids activities, a community picnic and live music by The Bluffetts. Carnival games, face painting and, of course, a fireworks display add to the festivities.
July 9: Epic Singletrack Valley Point-to-Point
The third race in the Epic Singletrack Mountain Series is a local’s favorite that has become one of the classic courses of the series. The routes change up until the last minute, so monitor the website for details.
July 9: Treadfest
This one-day event is the revamped version of the Fat Tire Classic, which has been held in Winter Park for nearly 20 years. This family-friendly festival focuses on all things “bicycle” and benefits the National Sports Center for the Disabled and the Mile High Chapter of the American Red Cross.
July 10: Epic Singletrack Super Downhill
It is all downhill from here! Hold on to your hat (or helmet, as it were!) as cyclists from beginners to pros give it their all on this downhill course. This is the fourth race of the Epic Singletrack Mountain Bike Series.
July 16-17: Mountain Bike Capital USA™ Weekend, Hideaway Park and Winter Park Resort
To celebrate its more than 600 miles of marked and mapped trails, the Winter Park-Fraser Valley has designated a weekend to focus on mountain biking. It includes live music, food, bike demos, clinics, free lift tickets, and of course, all the mountain biking you can handle.
July 16-17: Winter Park SolShine Music Festival, Hideaway Park & Cooper Creek Square
This new free festival features national, regional and local live music. The line-up includes The Subdudes, Trampled by Turtles, The Punch Brothers, Blind Pilot, Gregory Alan Isakov, Johan Wagner, Megan Burtt, Reed Foehl and Ramaya Soskin. Merchandise vendors and a food/beer garden will be in the venues to add to the festive atmosphere. VIP tickets available.
July 23-24: Winter Park Jazz Festival at Hideaway Park in Winter Park
Cool mountain air and hot jazz make perfect harmony at the annual Winter Park Jazz Festival presented by Winter Park Resort, with headliners Dave Koz and the O’Jays. In addition to tantalizing tunes that stretch well into the evening hours, the festival is host to food and craft vendors. Stay and play packages are available.
July 23-24: Alpine Art Affair in Winter Park
This free event is held in downtown Winter Park and features fine arts, jewelry, photography, sculpture, pottery, painting and glass. Additionally, enjoy food, music and activities for the kids.
July 28-31: Crankworx, Winter Park Resort
The premier downhill bike festival in the U.S., this event also oozes “cool” with amazing athletes and great live music. See what all the rage is about! Trestle Bike Park will also be open so you can give downhill biking a try.
July 30: Winter Park Family Fun Fest in Hideaway Park
Join us as NRC Broadcasting presents this family-friendly-filled event including bouncy castles, climbing wall, face painting, balloon animals, performing dogs, train rides, pony rides, skate park competition, bike park demo, live performances and more.
July 30: Epic Singletrack Crankworks Colorado X-Country
This course – part of the Epic Singletrack Mountain Bike Series – is a favorite point-to-point that races back to Winter Park Resort. Challenging climbs and fast descents spice up the route which includes an eclectic mix of interconnected trails.
