The popular retreat, located atop Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, is now accepting reservations for its New Year's Eve extravaganza, featuring sumptuous cuisine, fabulous music and planned events for both the young…and young at heart.

The popular retreat, located atop Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, is now accepting reservations for its New Year's Eve extravaganza, featuring sumptuous cuisine, fabulous music and planned events for both the young...and young at heart.

The Copper Mine, the resort's fine dining restaurant and recent winner of a Wine Spectator Award, offers an intimate holiday dinner, from 9:00 p.m. until midnight, with an a la carte selection of the finest prime beef and fresh seafood, as well as tunes from "Joe Pettus and the Heartbreakers."

Stoney Creek Bar and Grill, located at the base of the mountain at Stoney Creek Golf Course, touts a casual atmosphere and a fixed price holiday menu. Guests will enjoy acoustic guitar from 6:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. and then dance the night away to the sounds of the "Jazz Rascals."

The Edge will offer a full menu until 10:00 p.m. and champagne and light hors d'oeuvres until 11:00 p.m., as well as live performances by several bands including, "Everyday People." The Devils Grill, showcasing live music by the "Nicholson Brothers," will serve a special a la carte menu from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

In addition, Wintergreen is hosting the Ballroom Dance Party featuring the "Deanie Blues Band," a full cash bar, complimentary champagne toast at midnight, party favors and a dessert buffet served from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Kids can also ring in the New Year with style at parties designed just for them! Children between the ages of four and seven will enjoy a Monster Slumber Party in the Crawford Room. Dressed in their favorite costumes, children will have a delightfully scary time creating creepy crafts, playing shadow games, and watching the Disney Pixar film, "Monsters, Inc."

Kids, ages eight through 12, will love Wintergreen's indoor Campout Party complete with mini s'mores cooked over a candle flame, ghost stories, flashlight limbo and games around the "campfire."
