Wintergreen, Va. (PRWEB) April 19, 2012
Wintergreen Resort is set to welcome participants for the first-ever Wintergreen Adventure Challenge to be held atop Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, June 30 – July 1.
A test of strength and endurance, the Wintergreen Adventure Challenge takes place on a seven-mile course with over a mile of elevation changes along the way. Twenty obstacles will test physical and mental performance in a grueling test for participants 18 years and older.
The event will begin at 8 AM each morning with waves of 200 people starting the course every 20 minutes. This is a great “team” opportunity and groups of friends may register together to get the same start time.
Organizers admit that this will be a grueling event and contestants will get wet and muddy. But, along the way fans will cheer, comrades will lend a helping hand and personal victories will be achieved.
Adventure Challenge registration is now open and through May 20 the entry fee is $79 per person for Saturday and $69 for Sunday. Entry fees will increase as the event looms closer. From May 21 until June 15 the fees are $89 (Saturday) and $79 (Sunday); from June 16-24 fees are $109 (Saturday) and $99 (Sunday). Spectator tickets are $10 per day.
The ultimate experience is to stay on the mountain for the night or the weekend. As a guest of Wintergreen Resort there will be no parking worries or fears of getting to the start position on time; you can walk to the event village or take the resort shuttle. After the event, relax at the Aquatics & Fitness Center. The Wintergreen Adventure Challenge weekend promises to sell out quickly, so book room reservations now.
