Telesoft, trusted experts in fixed and mobile Telecom Expense Management (TEM) software and services, has leveraged their Mobility Management Solution to provide a Mobility Polling Inventory service to help a Fortune 500 Manufacturing Organization and reduce costs. Mobility Polling, or the process of sending a number of text messages to validate inventory, was used to eliminate more than 600 unapproved devices from their wireless device inventory. Using a conservative post implementation cost of about $30 per wireless user, they were able to instantly decrease their overall mobility costs by more than $216,000 per year, showing a quick Return on Investment.

“This is another example of Wireless Expense Management (WEM) technology enabling an organization to see immediate savings,” said Thierry Zerbib, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Telesoft. “Not only were they able to realize this large one-time savings, but they have been able to further reduce overall mobility expenses for more than 40,000 devices by more than 15%.”

In most instances, organizations can perform regular checks for devices with no-usage to ensure that all billed devices are being utilized. In the case of this manufacturing company, their mobile device inventory was in such disarray that they were unable to determine if an employee was in possession of the device. Through an automated process within the Telesoft WEM Solution, a series of three text messages were sent out to identify that users who were on corporate owned devices were both eligible for service and were actually employees of the organization. After the third message, if a user had not responded or failed to provide the properly identify themselves, the service was discontinued.

“As the enterprise workforce continues to become more mobile, mobility management is going to be an issue within the enterprise,” stated Zerbib. “Organizations need to utilize the technology available to optimize usage, centralize mobile device procurement, and proactively audit wireless invoices in order to drive down their costs.”
