The two latest programs from Youth Services America, Disney Friends for Change in Latin America and the United Kingdom, offer young people an opportunity to make a change.
The objective of the grant programs in Latin America and UK is to get children between the ages of 5 and 18 involved in helping the planet and making a difference. By applying for these programs, children can “become a friend” and work to improve the lives of those less fortunate. Initiatives of Disney Friends for Change include getting clean water in Ecuador, bringing education to Haiti and finding alternative income in India. By getting the youth involved in such efforts, YSA hopes to build a better future.
While the programs vary in grant size and geographic location, both seek to award grants to youth-led service projects that demonstrate leadership, creativity and the commitment to making a positive impact on the community. The deadline for the UK program is June 21, 2012. The deadline for the Latin America Grants program is July 1, 2012.
In addition, two of YSA’s other grant programs remain open, but have deadlines in the next two weeks. Get Ur Good on Grants, brought to you by Miley Cyrus and YSA, is a worldwide program that is looking to support a project that addresses a community need or issue during the summer of 2012. State Farm Good Neighbor Student Achievement Grants engage participating teachers and students in a service and learning program that promotes academic achievement, workplace readiness and stronger communities.
“We are thrilled to work with YSA, an organization that seeks to help build the character of children worldwide as they improve the world around them,” says WizeHive CEO Mike Levinson. “We firmly believe that such programs can make a difference in the world.”
WizeHive offers a cloud-based platform that automates an organization’s forms, workflows and business processes. These tools have been used to automate contests with WizeHive's Online Contest Software; grants with WizeHive's Grant Management Software; sales processes and more.
