There are a lot more women’s swim teams out there than men’s swim teams and there are a lot more opportunities to get scholarships either academic or athletic.
(PRWEB) August 02, 2012
AthleticScholarships.com, a premiere athletic scholarship and recruitment information portal, has recently released their Division II women’s swimming recruitment guidelines. Using data supplied by college swim team coaches, swim recruits across the U.S. and college rosters AthleticScholarships.com created the comprehensive recruiting guidelines for high school students aspiring to swim at the Division II collegiate level.
Securing a position on a Division II women’s swim team is competitive. However, receiving a scholarship for swimming can be even more challenging. NCSA recruiting coach Annamarie Novinger, points out that for women there is a silver lining. “There are a lot more women’s swim teams out there than men’s swim teams and there are a lot more opportunities to get scholarships either academic or athletic.”
The goal of the guidelines is to help student athletes better understand the recruitment process and improve their odds of securing a position on a women’s swim team. They give high school student athletes an inside look at what college swimming recruiters and coaches consider to be the ideal statistics and achievements for high to mid level recruits.
However, athletes should note that these are guidelines only and athletes don’t have to meet every stat to gain interest from Division II colleges.
