“It began as I walked on the beach with my wife Lea, celebrating her birthday. Suddenly a heart appeared at my feet in pure, white foam. It was a magical moment – a gift from the sea,” said Bayles.

Corvallis, Oregon (PRWEB) December 13, 2010

Words From The Sea is a coastal letter art collection of natural seafoam shapes, delivered by the ocean, not formed by hand or digitally created. The alphabet photography series, available online at http://www.WordsFromTheSea.com , includes several variations of every letter in the English language, as well as numbers, punctuation marks, hearts, animals and other shapes.

Unlike traditional alphabet collections with photographs of architectural details, the letters in the Words From The Sea gallery are created naturally by the ocean. And, unlike a steeple or an archway, this subject does not hold still. The seafoam is constantly moving, transforming and changing. There is barely a second to catch each shape before it transforms and then dissolves.

Building this collection of seafoam letters and shapes was a two-year photographic quest by the company’s president, acclaimed photographer, David Paul Bayles. “It began as I walked on the beach with my wife Lea, celebrating her birthday. Suddenly a heart appeared at my feet in pure, white foam. It was a magical moment – a gift from the sea,” said Bayles.

The photographer spent the next two years and countless hours perfecting the artistry of discovering and shooting the seafoam. When he found the letter “X” in September of this year, the alphabet photography collection was finally complete.

The online gallery, WordsFromTheSea.com, allows customers to create their own personalized word art. Words From The Sea continues to add to the collection and the company plans to expand their offering to include greeting cards within the next thirty days. A portion of all proceeds goes to ocean conservation and education.

Bayles, his wife Lea Houston and their two business partners Chris and Karen Ray have a tremendous love and appreciation for the ocean and are deeply concerned about the many challenges the oceans face. “We wanted to find ways we could help the oceans of the world thrive. Sharing these delightful images with people all over the world, inspiring love and appreciation for the oceans while supporting ocean conservation, is truly a gift for us,” explained Bayles.
