As the health care marketplace continues to evolve under the Affordable Care Act and other future legislative initiatives, it is imperative that we stay in lock step with the needs of our partners.

Workable Solutions Inc. (WSI) announced today that Ernie Harris will assume responsibilities as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). As CSO, Harris will play a key leadership role in developing WSI's business strategy and capitalize on new growth opportunities as he campaigns for health care consumerism. Harris will help shape WSI's approach and business plans as it expands its already rich history in the private health insurance exchange market.

As a thought leader on consumerism in health care, Harris focuses on how employers can best deploy their resources to meet the often-competing goals of offering world-class health care benefits while maintaining strong balance sheets. Now as the Chief Strategy Officer for WSI, he will drive the development of new business strategies that enable health plans, brokers and employers to offer competitive health coverage options while controlling spiraling health care costs. “Workable Solutions offers the ability to really make a difference in the market,” Harris says. “I’m excited to join a team that not only offers innovative solutions, like their Workable Choice Exchange Platform, but also has a track record of proven success with exchanges.”

A key part of Harris' role will be to ensure alignment of WSI’s strategy with trends in the private health care marketplace, to communicate the strategy to our current and future partners and to ensure continuity of goals within the company. In his new corporate development role, Harris is responsible for WSI's growth strategy through business development activities including partnerships, acquisitions, equity investment and the incubation of innovative technologies.

"As the private health care marketplace continues to evolve under the Affordable Care Act and other future legislative initiatives, it is imperative that we stay in lock step with the needs of our partners," said Terry McCorvie, WSI President and CEO. "With his outstanding track record of success, I am very confident in Ernie's ability to help WSI capitalize on market opportunities and drive the company's business strategy as we meet our partners' evolving expectations for technology and business services."

Prior to his current role, Harris served as the Senior Product Manager at Ceridian, responsible for the management and future development of Ceridian’s national consumer directed health care services. Over the course of his 25-year career, he has served in product management and business development roles for Raymond James, Baltimore Gas & Electric and TDAmeritrade. Ernie has earned numerous accolades in the product management field, including designations from the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) and the Association of Business Process Management Professionals.

He is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland where he earned a degree in Computer Science, and is an active member in several professional organizations and in his community. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Arizona Product Development & Management Association (PDMA) and supports community initiatives and charities focused on environmental protection.
