Workforce Insight has announced the appointment of John West as a Retail Workforce Management Consultant to guide large retail partners in the deployment of solutions to better manage their workforce.
West has been engaged to address complex retail scheduling challenges and provide labor management solutions for national retailers, leveraging his deep expertise and best practice implementation success.
"Retailers with multiple sites and dynamic traffic patterns face unique challenges as they attempt to meet the demands of customers, the needs of their workforce, and improve annual sales comps and conversion from year to year," said West. "Workforce Insight's staff, expertise and entire methodology are solely focused on helping businesses effectively balance these competing demands."
Prior to joining Workforce Insight, West assisted Fortune 500 retailers in reducing labor costs and improving the automation of optimized employee scheduling and timekeeping functions. He was instrumental in the development of Home Depot's retail scheduling program and led the creation of the workforce management department for GameStop, which now oversees deployment of staff and management at more than 3,700 stores.
"John deeply understands the precarious balancing act faced by retailers. He quickly identifies requirements and streamlines the path to value," said Don Giffels, Managing Partner. "John's ability to support technology with structure, process and communication means retailers get the right people in the right place, at the right times and at the right cost."
West is currently engaged with several leading retail clients, including Borders, Circuit City and Hertz. John West is also a contributing author and blogger. Next week, West will be joining leading retailers and workforce management professionals at the NRF 97th Annual Convention & EXPO in New York (Jan 13 - 16, 2008).
