The Ken Blanchard Companies®, a global leader in workplace leadership and corporate development, has announced the acquisition of the TrustWorks!® product line. Founded in 1987, TrustWorks Group has developed strategies to help organizations build respect, trust, and skills in the workplace. Beginning in May 2010, Blanchard will incorporate the TrustWorks Group’s products and programs into its suite of leadership solutions.
“We feel that trust is a foundational piece of leadership development,” said Tom McKee, President and CEO of Blanchard. “TrustWorks! programs are very compatible with our Situational Leadership® II principles. Like SLII®, it offers a common language for people to have constructive conversations about very sensitive issues like trust.”
The 2010 Blanchard Corporate Issues Survey found that approximately one out of every four companies identifies a gap in its ability to develop leaders who inspire trust.
“Corporate scandals, mass layoffs, and outsourcing have led to a pervasive lack of trust in workplaces everywhere,” said Cynthia Olmstead, Founder and President of TrustWorks Group. “The world needs trust-building now more than ever before.”
“Trust of our corporate and government leaders is at an all-time low,” said Ken Blanchard, leadership expert and co-founder of the global leadership development company. “Once trust is lost, it is very hard to get back. But now we have a way of teaching people to understand how to assess and understand their trust behaviors. Leadership is all about relationships, and trust is a big part of that.”
Cynthia Olmstead, strategic planning consultant and organizational change expert, is a former employee of Blanchard who taught SLII® for a decade before establishing her independent consulting practice. Olmstead selected Blanchard as a value-added distributor of her product line several years back.
“We have had a warm and collegial relationship for many years,” said Olmstead. “I am thrilled that TrustWorks! will now be able to gain further market reach by becoming part of Blanchard, because it is such a respected organization and pioneer in the leadership field.”
The popular Leader as Trust Builder™, Myself as Trust Builder™, and Great Teams™ programs from TrustWorks Group will continue to be available through their website, http://www.trustworksgroup.com , and will become a part of Blanchard’s leadership solutions.
