World Patent Marketing, a vertically integrated manufacturer and engineer of patented products, announces the Glue Sponge, a crafts invention made to more properly apply glue to art projects.

"The crafts industry is worth $30 billion,” says Scott Cooper, CEO and Creative Director of World Patent Marketing. "Consumers are becoming more comfortable with online marketing, which is becoming a big part of this industry."

“Whether for fun or for school, there are many kids doing arts and crafts projects,” says Jerry Shapiro, Director of Manufacturing and World Patent Marketing Inventions. “This crafts invention is useful for controlling the flow of glue on the page, making things much easier and less messy.”

The Glue Sponge is a small sponge inside a little plastic container with a hinged lid that is meant to control the flow of glue onto a surface and prevent over-gluing. This sponge is filled with glue and an object is pressed onto it to push the glue out. The sponge then absorbs any excess glue that remains on the object. This gives a lot more control over the glue on the project and prevents over-gluing. The box is leak-proof to prevent spills and the glue from drying out. There are channels cut into the underside of the sponge that houses the glue, which gets absorbed up through the sponge and onto the material. Any remaining glue gets reabsorbed into the sponge so there is no waste and no mess. Water can also be added to remoisten the sponge. This is a convenient invention that will help with all art projects.

“As a teacher and product designer, the Glue Sponge is one of a teacher’s best tools,” says inventor Susan F. “Gluing in a classroom has been such a mess in the past, but with this applicator, this takes the hassle out. No more glue everywhere and messy projects!”
