Condé Nast Traveller has just published The Spa Guide 2013, a guide to spas around the world each unique in their approach to the ultimate spa vacation. Condé Nast has distinguished only eight spas for their guide and Florblanca Resort in Costa Rica is extremely proud to be among the elite eight. Condé Nast Traveller presented the awards for World’s Best Spas at a London ceremony held May 1st, 2013. Florblanca Resort in Costa Rica was declared winner in the category of Best For Beach Action.

In their description of the resort, Condé Nast points out that Florblanca is situated, “between two of the best surfing beaches anywhere: Santa Teresa and Hermosa. Learning to surf during your time at Florblanca Resort is challenging, rewarding, and exhausting and Spa Bambu is ready to help you recover and rejuvenate."

Spa Bambu was designed by San Jose architect Jean Garnier and is suspended over peaceful waterfall filled pools, shaded by natural flora, and is uniquely constructed from natural bamboo. Services include massage, body treatments, and facials. A jacuzzi awaits spa guests for use before or after appointments.

Guests spending time learning to surf will look forward to a relaxing or deep tissue massage. Also offered are hot stone massages and Thai massage combining pressure points, stretching, and lengthening. Guests looking to soak up the rays and bask in the beautiful sunshine will appreciate the selection of body treatments, scrubs, wraps, and facials, including a Costa Rican Coffee Scrub to help their skin recover and renew.

General Manager, Cody Dillon, remarks: “We are so full of joy to have been chosen by Condé Nast Traveller for their World’s Best Spa Guide in 2013. We are extremely dedicated to our guests and to providing the best possible services at Spa Bambu and throughout the Resort.”

Florblanca Resort is located in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, and, in addition to Spa Bambu, features open air villas with air conditioned bedrooms; Nectar Restaurant serving locally sourced, fresh and healthy fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; daily yoga practice in the open air dojo; a fully outfitted Pilates studio; and local activities including horseback riding, hiking, ATV excursions, fishing, SUP, and surfing.
