In his new book, “Selected Pages From The Diary of an Indoor Cat” (published by Trafford Publishing), author W. R. Runyan gives readers a glimpse into the life a typical, yet adventurous, housecat.

A cat with the foresight to keep a diary records her daily activities, which include a wide range of happenings. For example, the cat lets readers peer into such experiences as the first time she spots a gecko, the time she discovers termites chewing a wall of the house and the time she is scared out of her wits by some coyotes howling outside the window. These and roughly 50 other episodes fill the pages of “Selected Pages From The Diary of an Indoor Cat.”

An excerpt from “Selected Pages From The Diary of an Indoor Cat”:

“It was pretty hard, but I was also able to convince her to get up several times during a night to put out food when hunger pangs struck me. It took quite a number of nights meowing in her ear and pulling the covers from over her eyes before she would do that. However, she sure wasn’t very enthusiastic. People seem to like to sleep uninterrupted for hours at a time. They just don’t comprehend catnaps.”

Runyan is fascinated by the things that pets do without people ever noticing, and he shares that curiosity with readers. “I just want readers to be entertained for a short time,” he says, “and to perhaps have more appreciation of their furry pets.”
