Spirited Laak/Esfandiari Video Interview Highlights PokerListings.com's Daily Live Series Coverage

PokerListings.com's live coverage of the 2008 World Series of Poker* stepped up a notch yesterday, with several highlights including an exclusive blog from Liz Lieu, interviews with U.K. pros Roland De Wolfe and Praz Bansi and a video interview with infamous poker buddies Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari that involved more than a little questioning of Laak's poker skills. PokerListings' WSOP* Coverage continues Wednesday with live reports from five more events at the Rio, including the action-packed $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em w/ re-buys event and the awarding of another prestigious gold bracelet in Event 4 - $5,000 Mixed Hold'em.
How many bracelets do you have Phil?

Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles (PRWEB) June 4, 2008 -- PokerListings.com's live coverage of the 2008 World Series of Poker* (http://www.pokerlistings.com/live-tournaments/wsop) stepped up a notch yesterday, with several highlights including an exclusive blog from Liz Lieu, interviews with U.K. pros Roland De Wolfe and Praz Bansi and a video interview with infamous poker buddies Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari that involved more than a little gentle ribbing of Laak's poker skills

Despite an intense coverage day that included live updates and photos from several simultaneous events, PL.com was lucky to score a sit-down interview with the renowned duo at Esfandiari's luxury Vegas condo.

And despite Laak coming off a solid final-table appearance - and a $74,448 pay day - in Event 1, the $10k Pot-Limit Hold'em World Championship, he still played the perennial whipping boy to Esfandiari. The witty banter, as per usual, also flowed.

"I think Phil is trying to still learn the game" Esfandiari says, relaxing on the couch with Laak. "He's got a lot to learn. I think his girlfriend (Jennifer Tilly) has surpassed him in poker playing."

"That's the harsh truth of it," responds the good-natured Laak. "She has. I'm lucky. I suck out on people; that's my technique."

"How many bracelets do you have Phil?" Esfandiari adds later in the interview. "Zero; that's right I forgot. How many does your girlfriend have? Oh she has one. Oh ok. If I had a girlfriend and she had a bracelet and I didn't have one."

"That actually doesn't hurt," Phil responds. "I'm actually stoked about it."

Other highlights from yesterday's coverage included an exclusive blog from the "Poker Diva" Lieu (http://www.pokerlistings.com/blog/wsop/2008/feeling-good-at-wsop-but-aces-cracked-again), who recounted some key hands from her first few events and yet another case of cracked aces, and interviews with De Wolfe and Bansi (http://www.pokerlistings.com/live-tournaments/player-interviews) - two U.K. pros who had some enlightening things to say about the differences in the North American game.

PokerListings.com's live 2008 WSOP* coverage continues Wednesday with updates and photos from five more events at the Rio, including the action-packed $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em w/ re-buys event and the awarding of another prestigious gold bracelet in Event 4 - $5,000 Mixed Hold'em.

Poker fans will also find, as always, the daily video recap with host Amy Macbride (http://www.pokerlistings.com/live-tournaments/wsop/2008/videos), more interviews with the most sought-after pros in poker and great blogs directly from the heart of the action.
