I mean I'm happy I won this, I beat the toughest field in poker history and I know for sure, I played off the f***ing charts; that's all that matters to me. I think apart from the one hand before the dinner break, I was the best player in the field and that's why I won.

On a rare day where PokerListings.com's live 2008 World Series of Poker* coverage saw only one gold bracelet awarded, it was undeniably fitting that it went to one of the few "larger-than-life" characters big enough to carry a whole day himself.
That guy: bombastic Full Tilt Poker pro Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, who captured his third career WSOP* bracelet by outlasting perhaps the toughest field in World Series history in Event 18, $5,000 No-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw w/Rebuys.
Just a few of the poker superstars the Mouth dispatched on the way to his title: Barry Greenstein, Erick Lindgren, Jeffrey Lisandro, Tony G., Tom Schneider, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey. And there were plenty, plenty more.
But the day belonged to the slimmer, cheerier and unquestionably resurgent Matusow who, unsurprisingly, also didn't come up short of words to describe it all in his exclusive PokerListings.com post-win interview:
"To win this, it's not just about beating the 85 best players in the world, at a game that I don't have that much experience at - it's the fact that for six days coming into this tournament, I've won 13 pots in six tournaments and I've walked out the door with a smile on my face every day laughing because I didn't give a chip away.
"This is one of the sickest things I'll ever say: I think I've made just three mistakes in the last seven tournaments, maybe only two, and most of the time I'm making like five or six mistakes a day, so I'm playing with great patience and great focus at the moment.
"I mean I'm happy I won this, I beat the toughest field in poker history and I know for sure, I played off the f***ing charts; that's all that matters to me. I think apart from the one hand before the dinner break, I was the best player in the field and that's why I won."
There was certainly more. And more. And a little more; everything Matusow had to say can be found in the PokerListings.com player interview section.
Live 2008 WSOP* coverage at PokerListings.com wraps its second week of action on Friday with updates, blogs, player interviews and photos from all ongoing events, with the star attraction being the start of the $10,000 World Championship of Heads-up No-Limit Hold'em.
Heads-up poker is often considered poker in its purest form, as it's far more dependent on outplaying your opponent than about the cards themselves, and as such it always makes for a star-studded field of poker's best out to stake a claim on the title.
Also set to play on Day 15 are final tables for Event 21, $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em and Event 22, $3,000 H.O.R.S.E, plus Day 2 action from Event 23, $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em and Event 24, $2,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em/Omaha.
Live coverage is, as always, capped off by the PokerListings.com daily video recap with host Amy Macbride, bringing viewers up to speed on all the day's key hands, big winners and talking points.
