South Florida PGA Tour Selects Wellington’s Wycliffe Golf & Country Club

Wycliffe Golf & Country Club was proud to host the South Florida PGA Tour for one hundred and four junior PGA golfers who competed on a Saturday and Sunday. The tour was held in Wellington, Florida at Wycliffe’s grounds that hosts two 18-hole courses.

Part of Wycliffe’s culture is to encourage and promote the game of golf, especially with our younger generation, as well as consistently giving back to our local community.

Wycliffe Golf & Country Club proudly hosted the South Florida PGA Tour in Wellington, Florida with one hundred and four junior PGA golfers who competed.

The South Florida PGA Junior Tour, presented by The Honda Classic is a membership-based tour open to boys and girls ages 12-18 in South Florida with the aspirations and skill levels to compete at the High School and Collegiate level and features some of South Florida’s most talented junior golfers. The field included past winner, Zachary Smith and two-time winners, Tim Cahill, Alexandra Papell and Andreina Merchan.

“Part of Wycliffe’s culture is to encourage and promote the game of golf, especially with our younger generation, as well as consistently giving back to our local community,” said Wycliffe’s Golf & Country Club Manager, Steve Malvinni. “Wycliffe also opens its golf courses each year for the local Wellington High School Boys and Girls golf teams.”

The South Florida PGA Junior Tour is also supported by the Allianz Championship, Club Med Golf Academy, Don Law Golf Academy, Palm Beach County Sports Commission, the Men’s Fun Group at Mirasol and Titlelist. Kritsarin Oukosavanna of Boca Raton claimed his first Overall Title in the Boys 14-18 division, Zachary Smith of Palm Beach Gardens took home first place in the Boys 16-18 division. In the Boys 14-15 division, Harry Brenner of Boca Raton came in First, Shyanne Lovan of Wellington claimed her first Overall Title in the Girls 14-18 division. Finishing first in the Girls 16-18 division was Radi Sairo of Lake Worth.

The golfers were all challenged and said they enjoyed playing the West Course at Wycliffe.

“The parents and participants of the SFPGA Junior Tour could not get over how warm and inviting the Wycliffe membership and professional staff were to the golfers and their parents,” said golf director, Lynn Stebbins. “The friendliness of our community is what makes Wycliffe Golf & Country Club so special.”
