xchangeAGENT Finalizing Online Payment Solution for Medellin Government
Emerging market payment solution provider nearing completion of electronic transaction management system for Latin American municipal client.
West Palm Beach, FL (PRWEB) June 10, 2008 -- xchangeAGENT Inc., provider of enterprise payment solutions, is currently in the final stages of implementing their SecureXR enterprise payment platform for their client the City of Medellin, Colombia. Once completed, the system will allow residents of Medellin to pay their taxes, government bills and traffic related fines online. This system is the first of its kind for the City of Medellin, whose residents up until now had to pay all taxes and fines in person at a government office.
This electronic payments initiative began in the third quarter of 2007, wherein Medellin's official website would offer government payments powered by SecureXR, xchangeAGENT's enterprise payment management platform for enabling secure electronic transactions. This new system will allow residents to pay any government-related bill including local taxes, utility bills, auto taxes, driver's license fees, as well as alcohol and tobacco taxes online. This service will make it more convenient for the residents of Medellin to make their government payments, compared to the current process requiring residents to travel to distant government offices to make their payments, thereby increasing on-time government payments and fee revenue for the municipality.
This solution implementation is the first of several technology improvement projects cooperatively undertaken by xchangeAGENT and the City of Medellin. Additionally, xchangeAGENT will be consulting with the government of Medellin on process improvement opportunities related to e-government initiatives.
