Unique Application Leverages Yelp API to Populate User-Generated Reviews on the World’s Largest Social Networking Site

Sitewire continues to provide innovative and meaningful digital experiences to clients and consumers with the development of a social media application which leverages Yelp’s free API to pull review content into a brand’s Facebook page. The application, which was created for premier luxury brand, The Capital Grille, is the first of its kind on the market.

An expert in multi-location restaurant marketing, Sitewire has completed a variety of digital media engagements on behalf of The Capital Grille in the last year. Launched last week, the Facebook application is unique in that it leverages the Yelp API to aggregate consumer reviews and recommendations from forty of The Capital Grille locations. The Yelp reviews are then fed directly into The Capital Grille Facebook page.

Because the Yelp API didn’t previously offer this type of support for multi-location businesses, Sitewire created the custom feed in-house to meet the needs of The Capital Grille. The agency worked closely with both Yelp and The Capital Grille to ensure consistency in brand standards and create a unified on-site experience for Facebook fans and followers.

The potential uses for the application as a content aggregator and conversation starter on Facebook, the world’s most popular social networking site, are deep and wide, and the agency is already forecasting future upgrades and modifications to the application in the coming weeks and months, expanding its reach in the social space for a mix of clients and industries.

“This version is just the beginning,” said Perez. “Where we can take this app in terms of what it can do and which current and potential clients can use it is almost limitless. You’ll just have to wait and see.”
