We’ll be offering an application that...will allow providers to troubleshoot individual customer issues more efficiently and improve the overall level of service on their network for all subscribers.

ZCorum announced today that they are developing an application that will allow DSL providers to improve their end-user support services, increase operational efficiency and better manage their networks. The company will be leveraging the TR-069 standard and their experience in creating software for cable providers to offer a unique modem management and diagnostic solution for telcos.
ZCorum currently offers a popular diagnostics application called TruVizion to cable providers, which makes use of the DOCSIS standard to present critical diagnostic data for CSRs and network technicians. According to Julie Compann, ZCorum’s President and Chief Operating Officer, developing a similar feature set for telcos is a natural progression for her company. “We developed TruVizion for our cable providers first because DOCSIS is such a robust and consistent standard. TR-069 is a bit more complicated, but it’s important for us to address the needs of our telephone providers, as well.” In addition to modem management and diagnostics solutions, ZCorum also provides managed services for broadband providers, including modem provisioning, branded email and 24 x 7 technical support for the end-user.
ZCorum was the first to provide wholesale Internet services to telcos in 1995, and Compann emphasized that this will be a “first of its kind” toolset that’s been missing in the industry thus far. “Telcos offering DSL service have traditionally had a difficult time when it comes to modem management and diagnostics. Basic functions like configuring new modems and restoring modem configs can be time consuming, and even performing a simple task like remotely rebooting a modem is a challenge. We’ll be offering an application that provides these capabilities, coupled with user-friendly diagnostic screens and mapping that will allow providers to troubleshoot individual customer issues more efficiently and improve the overall level of service on their network for all subscribers.”
ZCorum provides broadband Internet and communication solutions to telcos, cable companies, utilities, and municipalities, assisting in all facets of broadband implementation, integration, engineering and consulting, network monitoring and diagnostics. ZCorum also offers wholesale, private-labeled Internet services, including data and VoIP provisioning, email, Web hosting, and 24x7 support for end-users, enabling service providers to compete effectively in their local rural and suburban markets. ZCorum is headquartered in Alpharetta, GA. For more information, please visit http://www.ZCorum.com.
