With TechVizion a provider can check the status of their CMTS on a mobile device and immediately see if there is an unusual number of modems off-line or attempting to connect.

ZCorum, a leading provider of managed broadband services and diagnostics software, announced today that it has added two enhancements to its TechVizion app. TechVizion is the company's mobile app that is used in conjunction with its TruVizion broadband diagnostics software. The company updated the app to include a CMTS diagnostic tab, as well as providing a view of the modem screen on tablets similar to what is available in their TruVizion desktop software.
According to Scott Helms, Vice President of Technology at ZCorum, the CMTS diagnostic tab provides information on the status of all cable modems on the plant right from a smartphone or tablet. “With one tap you can now see the number of modems on the CMTS that are online, offline and those that are attempting to connect.” Helms said the new feature makes it much easier to keep an eye on things wherever you happen to be. “You don’t always hear about a problem when you’re in the office. With TechVizion a provider can check the status of their CMTS on a mobile device and immediately see if there is an unusual number of modems off-line or attempting.” Helms added that the app also shows a breakdown of the modem status by each upstream channel, which makes isolating problems much easier.
In addition to the CMTS tab, the latest version of TechVizion also includes a better format for viewing the modem diagnostics screen on a tablet. “We wanted to take advantage of the larger screen size in tablets, so we've modified the modem diagnostics screen so it now will display the information in a similar format as the desktop version if the tablet is held in a landscape orientation.”
ZCorum will be showcasing TechVizion along with its TruVizion software at the 2013 Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association annual meeting in Southampton, Bermuda on January 22 – 24. TechVizion is compatible with Android and Apple mobile devices, as well as Kindle Fire and the BlackBerry PlayBook.
