The Zero Energy America homes give the upscale home buyer the ability to balance the needs of sustainability and the luxury lifestyle they are seeking. It translates that every home can be built to net-zero standards.

freedomRail and its green storage features will be showcased at the Marc Rutenberg Home Media Day event, an Interactive Manufacturer Demonstration for the Zero Energy America No Electric Bill Home Project. The event will take place at 11am to 3pm on November 29 at 2712 Deer Track Way, Hawks Landing in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Zero Energy America is a real game changing project by Marc Rutenberg Homes to build four homes in the Tampa Bay area with net-zero electric bills. The first to be unveiled is the Hawks Landing home, running on 60% of the energy of any of the thousands of conventionally built homes of the 50 year history of the Rutenberg family of builders. Until now, the average size zero energy home was 1,450 square feet. Hawks Landing is 4,552 square feet with all the custom features available for a premier home. “These zero energy homes give the upscale home buyer the ability to balance the needs of sustainability and the luxury lifestyle they are seeking. It translates that every home can be built to net-zero standards,” remarked Marc Rutenberg.

At the event, freedomRail will be included among a premier group of manufacturers chosen based on their dedication to energy-efficient and green building products and technologies in the housing industry. Installed in closets throughout the home, Rutenberg chose freedomRail for his project because of freedomRail’s dedication to green products and services and for its ability to adjust and adapt to the changing needs of homeowners for years to come. “It is not just that freedomRail uses green materials,” Rutenberg said, “the freedomRail product line is one that adjusts and expands versus many systems that are taken off the wall and thrown into dumpsters and replaced with another system that is eventually thrown in the dumpster the next time change is needed.”

In addition, freedomRail home storage solutions can offer up to six LEED points toward builder’s LEED certification. All steel parts are made from 99% recycled steel and melamine is made from 100% recycled material. The steel is coated with epoxy powder coating, which contains no solvents and does not release harmful gases into the atmosphere or home.
