Second Annual “Gini Awards” Recognize Volunteer Service to Orthodontic Charity

Six individuals and two companies will be honored this year as remarkable ambassadors for the Smiles Change Lives (SCL) mission of providing access to affordable orthodontic care for children in need. The national charity connects caring orthodontists with qualified children in all 50 states. SCL has created more than 1,500 healthy, beautiful smiles for deserving children since 1997.

New Option for Tax Returns -- Build a Beautiful, Affordable New Smile for a Child

One national charity recommends that taxpayers consider allocating a portion of their tax return this year to affordable orthodontic treatment for 10-18 year old youth. Families approved for Smiles Change Lives pay $500 for braces, a fraction of the $5,000 average cost of orthodontic treatment nationwide. With 900 immediate openings with participating orthodontists nationwide, the program is seeking taxpayers who can submit a copy of their 2010 return as part of the application process.
