5,000 Youthfront Campers to Feed 100,000 in Africa Area Young People Participating in 'Feed the Hunger' Outreach

Nearly 5,000 young people attending summer Youthfront Camps are assembling and packaging 100,000 meals to send to starving people in Central Africa. Formerly called Kansas City Youth for Christ, Youthfront is a faith-based youth organization with two summer camps: Youthfront Camp South in LaCygne, Kan. and Youthfront Camp West in Edgerton, Kan. Youthfront's "Feed the Hunger" program provides nutritious food for the hungry, primarily children, who are suffering in Central Africa.

54 Missouri Rotary Clubs Donated 12,200 shoes, 1,450 socks and $7,000 for Shoes Orphan Souls®

The Kansas City Plaza Rotary Club collected 453 pairs of new shoes and 18 pairs of socks for Buckner International's Shoes for Orphan Souls. The shoes, socks and money were delivered to the Missouri Rotary District 6040 District Conference recently held in St. Joseph, Mo. The 54 Rotary Clubs in Rotary District 6040 collected more than 12,200 pairs of new shoes, 1,450 pairs of socks and nearly $7,000 for orphans in such countries as Guatemala, Ethiopia and Latvia.

KBS Constructors, Inc., a Topeka-based commercial construction firm with an office in Shawnee, Kan., will build Victory Junction's medical facility, commonly referred to as the "Body Shop." The Body Shop provides on-site medical support and houses medically-advanced equipment to ensure a safe, yet fun environment for the children and families attending Victory Junction. In addition, the Body Shop will be staffed with a full-time medical team.
