Software developer enhances award-winning email security product with anti-spam functionality

Manassas, VA. – March 11, 2002 - TFS Technology, Inc., a software developer of award-winning email security and connectivity products, introduces today TFS Secure Messaging-Server 4.72 with added RBL support, expanding the product’s existing Anti-Spam capabilities.

“With the increasing number of SPAM email being received by organizations on a daily basis, the ability to block unwanted email before it reaches its intended recipient has become a necessity for organizations of all sizes”, says Krister Fransson, CEO of TFS Technology Inc. “TFS Secure Messaging 4.72 provides IT Managers with much more control over unsolicited email.”

RBLs (Realtime Blackhole Lists) are commonly used to check if an IP address connecting to an SMTP server exists as a DNS record under a specified RBL domain. A majority of the IP addresses listed on RBLs are known to be open relays or SPAM servers. TFS Secure Messaging 4.72 supports lookup on both subscription-based and free, public RBL domains. Suspected SPAM can then not only be blocked from getting to its intended recipient, but from entering an organization’s mail system altogether. Furthermore, with TFS Secure Messaging 4.72, administrators can create their own in-house RBL lists (with access to a DNS server), providing more control over blocking unwanted email.

In addition to RBL support, TFS Secure Messaging 4.72 also includes enhancements to the product’s existing file attachment scanning, content filtering, and mobile phone paging capabilities.

TFS Secure Messaging-Server is the market’s most advanced server-based email security and management solution for Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes and Novell GroupWise as well as other SMTP-based email systems. Designed as an integral add-on for LAN-based mail systems, TFS Secure Messaging-Server is transparent to the end user, policy-based and provides a comprehensive encryption security, content filtering, and gateway connectivity solution for an organization's email system.

“As we continue to add and enhance product features in TFS Secure Messaging, our goal is to maintain the product’s ease-of-use appeal,” says Krister Fransson. “We’re pleased to provide our users with more functionality ,while keeping additional mouse clicks to a minimum.”
