IAdea and Procare jointly announce the availability of the eFlash mobile presenter at the IFA 2003 show in Germany. The device is first of its kind in the market and has drawn great interest from over a dozen European distributors. Sales for the unit is expected to exceed US$50 million in 2004.

IAdea Corporation, the pioneer of the ODL (Original Design Licensing) business model, and Procare International Ltd., a global manufacturer of consumer products, are jointly announcing the eFlash mobile presenter at the IFA 2003 trade show in Berlin, Germany. The new device is on display at Hall 4.1, Booth #912.

The eFlash is a pocket-size device weighing under quarter of a pound and operating on batteries. It stores thousands of Microsoft Office documents for professional presentations, effectively replacing the role of the notebook computer. Through conventional video connectors, the portable device connects to virtually any projector in the market and includes a remote control for conducting presentations up to 30 feet from the projector.

"The eFlash is a truly innovative product in the market. We are drawing overwhelming response from customers old and new," says Managing Director Jean Lee of Procare. "We are already receiving sample and quotation requests from distributors in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, and the Netherlands. Customers are enthusiastic about deploying the eFlash to the business as well as the educational market where clear and frequent communication is vital. The eFlash is an obvious replacement for the notebook computer both for its simplicity of use and price. Also, its slim design and stability makes the eFlash indispensable in professional presentations." The eFlash is a dedicated presentation device, therefore little can go wrong during a presentation. "I definitely don't want to challenge Murphy's Law in the serious presentations. eFlash is entirely solid-state and has no moving parts to break on the road. I trust eFlash a lot more than today's Wintel solutions."

Procare licenses the eFlash from IAdea as an XDL (exclusive design licensee) customer. "We have a long history working with Procare. They have a sharp sense of consumer products. The minute they jumped up in their seats during our presentation of the new design, we knew the eFlash is going to be a hit," says President and CEO John C. Wang of IAdea Corporation. Procare licensed the eFlash design within two days of its announcement. IAdea delivered prototypes for Procare to produce working samples. In less than a month, eFlash is a huge hit at the trade show. "Procare is speedy at deciding to own the eFlash design by signing up for XDL. At the IFA we supported Procare and made sure they will recover the cost for licensing from the first six months of product sale. We work hard at IAdea to develop and promote the ODL business model. We will continue to develop new products and support our customers through profitability." License fee for the exclusive XDL license range from US$300K to US$600K, depending on product design, plus per-piece royalties. Non-exclusive ODL licenses cost less, but do not guarantee market leadership.

IAdea and Procare will jointly promote the eFlash product again at Procare's grand stand in the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, October 13-16, 2003, booths #3G-27, 29, 31, and 3F-28, 30, 32.
