FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Rugby World Cup Shock  Worlds best rugby team excluded.
Sydney, Australia (PRWEB)October 10, 2003
On Friday October 10 the Rugby World Cup kicks off in Sydney, Australia when the reigning world Ârugby champions, the Australian Wallabies meet Argentina at Stadium Australia. The worldÂs premier rugby team however will be notably absent.
Undefeated in a series since its 1972 loss to France, the Australian Kangaroos continue to dominate like no other team in world sport. With the loss of notable stars in the form of Wendall Sailor, Matt Rogers and Lote Tuquiri to the rival Wallabies team, along with what is almost a full starting line-up to injury during the NRL finals series, the Kangaroos reign as the ultimate team in rugby looks set to continue. This is despite heavy opposition when the team leaves next week for its tour of New Zealand, France, Wales and England.
The British Lions are likely to be fielding a full compliment of players for the three match Ashes series against the Kangaroos, having avoided the injury toll that has plagued them on a number of campaigns in recent years.
The Ashes series kicks off a busy period for International rugby as both the European Nations Cup featuring Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Russia, France and England A, the Mediterranean Cup featuring France, Lebanon, Serbia and Morocco will also be decided by the end of November.
