Soldiers of the 142nd are back from Iraq and would enjoy spending the day with you. At conclusion of the welcome home ceremony there will be a yellow balloon release in honor of the 141st and all presently serving their country

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 15 for the Welcome Home Party for the 142nd. The celebration starts at 2:00 p.m. in the Lisbon High School gym. The troops will be introduced by Master Seargent Steve Olson . The Lisbon VFW Color Guard will present the colors. North Dakota Army National Guard (NDANG) General Mike Haugen will be in attendance.

The soldiers of the 142nd plan to release yellow balloons outside in honor of the 141st who are presently serving in Iraq in between the program and the Open House.

An Open House will be held at the Armory following the balloon release at approximately 3:30 p.m. Memorbilia, maps and pictures will be on display At 5:30 PM the expo center will be opened and Vendors will be selling food, a slide show presentation of Iraq and the activities of the soldiers will be shown,

A dance sponsored by the Lisbon Civic and Commerce will be held at the Expo Center on the fairgrounds beginning at 9:00 p.m. It features the band “Bryce Niemiller”.

The entire community and surrounding areas are encouraged to join in the celebration to thank these soldiers for their service.
