Duplin County, NC (PRWEB) May 13, 2004 -
The Duplin County Area Freecycle Station is proud to announce that freecycling has come to Duplin County. If you havenÂt heard of it yet, Freecycling is a way of reducing waste by giving things you donÂt need to someone who has a use for it, instead of hauling perfectly good things off to the landfill. Likewise you might see something listed that you could put to good use. ItÂs all done through a message board on the internet and best of all   ..itÂs all free!
The Duplin County Area Freecycle Station is open to anyone in Duplin County and itÂs surrounding areas. Signing up is simple; instructions can be found on the groupÂs Yahoo page at http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/duplinfreecycle. Upon subscription, you will receive a welcome message via email - please take a moment to read through this before participating. More information on freecycling can be found at http://www.freecycle.org.
Charitable organizations are encouraged to participate as well. This can be a great resource for our whole community. Freecycling was recently profiled in the May 10th issue of People Magazine and is spreading both nationally and internationally.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Americans recycle approximately 28% of their garbage, thus keeping 64 million tons of waste out of landfills across the country. We can reduce this even further through Freecycling and at the same time filling a need right in our own community.
Freecyclers are a tireless group of optimists who believe they can change the world one gift at a time. So come join us!
