“This is one of the most multi-dimensional festivals offered in the world,” said John Nugent, Producer and Artistic Director. “The 2005 Rochester International Jazz Festival will easily navigate all genres of music's creative improvised landscape.”

Marc Iacona, Executive Director of the Festival, added, “There will be something for everyone - from new sounds to familiar favorites. We’ve also added two new outside performance areas for free music, which will make this year’s Festival an amazing destination."

Nugent is a producer with a unique vantage point, which has helped the Rochester Festival become a rapidly ascending international event. The tenor sax player, who performs and has made several recordings, has lived on a bus while on tour with the Woody Herman Orchestra for two years, has booked stars, and produced events - from grand to intimate - all over the world. “I know first-hand what it takes for an artist to get to the stage, what it’s like on the stage and what you need when you get off the stage.”
