Jerry Garcia once said: ÂGrateful Dead Fans are like people who like licorice. Not everyone likes licorice, but the people who like licorice really like licorice.Â
Keeping the insight of Jerry Garcia in mind, The Licorice Exchange, a company located in Glendale, California recently launched a new website solely for licorice lovers. A selection of more than 70 different types of Gourmet International licorice from 8 different countries including Kookaburra licorice from Australia, licorice pipes from Finland, and salty licorice from Holland, can be found on their website.
The founders of the company, two brothers by the names of Rande and Curtis Colburn, decided that their love for International Licorice needed to be brought to licorice fans around the nation. International Licorice from countries such as Germany, Holland, and Finland are imported, packaged, and then sent right to the customerÂs door. ÂWe want to bring people closer to their home country through our licorice, said Rande. ÂWe can do this by making this international licorice available to them.Â
The two brothers, living in the internationally diverse county of Los Angeles of almost ten million people, saw a unique opportunity to reach out to the international residents of Southern California. L.A. County, according to Loyola Marymount University Los Angeles, is the third-most racially diverse county in the United States. After much research, they decided to take advantage of their location and reach out to foreign and domestic residents by offering International Gourmet Licorice.
The newly launched website can be found at http://www.licoriceexchange.com and is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
