Artists Resource Kollectiv (ARK) and Gallery 64 in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Kick Off Their New Exhibition Season with 'A Gathering of Friends'

"A Gathering of Friends" showcases 14 local artists -- from newly emerging to museum exhibited.

Artists Resource Kollectiv (ARK) and Gallery 64 are pleased to announce their new management agreement to operate the gallery at 64 Saint Marks Avenue in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn.

ARK’s inaugural group show “A Gathering of Friends” will have its opening reception on November 19, from 5-8pm. The show is a diverse collection of artist friends of the gallery and the curators. It will include 14 local artists who range from newly emerging talent to museum exhibited artists.

Exhibiting will be: sculptor Carlton Ingleton, whose work is currently included in the Percent for Art exhibit sponsored by The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs; sculptor Irene Gennaro, whose recent Dream Catch series is on exhibit at 55 Mercer Gallery; painter Audrey Anastasi, BWAC president emeritus and director of Tabla Rasa Gallery in Sunset Park: Brooklyn painters Robin Ross, Neddi Heller, Lucille Nurkse, Nina Talbot, Robert Reid and sculptor Gerard Barbot; from the Downtown Artists Alliance, painter Sherman Sussman as well as emerging talents, Bruce Zeines, Eugene Miller and April Greenberg and Sue Buricksen.

Gallery 64 was started by Trinidad born artist Glen Martin. ARK was founded in 2001 to aid artists and galleries in implementing marketing strategies through presentation and promotion. ARK’s calendar of exhibitions extends through June 2006.

“A Gathering of Friends” is curated by Sheryll Durrant and will run from November 12 to December 3. The gallery is open from noon to 6 pm Fridays through Sundays or for an appointment, call 718-638-2447.
